Cross Country Ride, Tule Tree & Lake

Tour Description

Enjoy the stunning beauty of Santo Domingo Tomaltepec lake, bike through an ancient village, and behold the greatness of “El Tule”; the widest tree in the world. I will be your local guide in this ride with the perfect mix of CROSS-COUNTRY trails and roads. We'll meet in downtown Oaxaca. Then, once we are geared up with helmets and bikes, we´ll begin our journey to Santo Domingo Tomaltepec (90 min. bicycle ride from downtown [16 km one way]). First, we'll ride on a safe bike lane covered with tree shades which is mostly flat. During our ride, you'll get to see the outskirts of the city, beautiful hills, and a few fields. After we arrive to Santo Domingo Tomaltepec town, we´ll get on a dirt road and start cycling uphill at some parts for the last 3 km. There will be some hills and slopes. Once we get to the lake, we'll spend some time relaxing and looking around to appreciate nature. Then, we'll bike down to Sta. Maria town and go see El Tule tree, the colorful church and the beautiful lush gardens. We'll also visit the local food market to get a delicious lunch and drinks. Finally, we'll start our ride back to Oaxaca. Our bikes are well maintained to offer a great riding experience. REQUIREMENTS: - Be in fair physical shape, to know how to ride a bike and shift gears (speeds). - The activity level is Moderate (32 KM total). - MINIMUM height is 1.53 m / 5' 0 ft. - Guests ages 16 and up can attend.
