This is a FANTASTIC cross country biking adventure with a mix of nature, ANCIENT sites, old villages and EXERCISING while exploring the countryside for 58 km. Our team will guide you as you visit a HIDDEN gem by a foothill: Dainzú (Zapotec ARCHEOLOGICAL site), as well as some charming Oaxacan VILLAGES along the way as we make our way to TEOTITLAN DEL VALLE. We'll meet in downtown Oaxaca to begin our journey. First, we'll ride on a safe bike lane covered with tree shades which is mostly flat. During this part, you'll get to see the outskirts of the city, beautiful hills, and crop fields. Once out of the city, we'll get on the trail to continue the ride through the Agave fields and on the way, we'll see the beautiful landscapes of RURAL Oaxaca. Along the ride, we'll bike through some PUEBLOS (villages), riding alongside Sierra Norte mountains, until we make it to TEOTITLAN del Valle. Here, we'll get off the bikes and have time to explore, by foot, the square, church and the traditional WOOL RUG workshops. Then, we'll get back on the bikes to continue towards DAINZÚ (archeological site) which is hidden against a foothill surrounded by massive Pitayo and Nopal cacti. We'll explore the site by foot. Later, we'll bike to Tlacochahuaya village to get a well-earned lunch. Finally, we'll ride back to Oaxaca. WHAT´S INCLUDED: - Bike - Helmet - On-the-go repair tool kit. - First aid kit - Professional bilingual guide. *Bikes provided are NOT rentals. Our bikes are well maintained to offer a great riding experience. REQUIREMENTS: - Be in fair physical shape. This is a 58 km (36 mile) cross country ride NOT for beginners due to the distance. - The activity level is Moderately challenging. -The skill level for this ride is Intermediate. - MINIMUM height is 1.55 m / 5' 2 ft. - Guests ages 18 and up can attend. WHAT TO BRING: - Water bottle (1-2 liters) - Sunscreen - Sunglasses - Backpack to carry belongings - Cash for food/drinks DURATION 6:30 hrs approx. Other things to note: Food/drinks are NOT included.
